We hope this newsletter finds you well and that you are enjoying the school year so far. It has been an eventful fall season with our Union City Middle School sports teams achieving great success. Congratulations to the girls junior high basketball team, boys junior high football team, marching band, and boys and girls cross country teams for their outstanding performances!
The girls junior high cross country team may not have fielded a full team, but they showcased exceptional talent throughout the year. We are proud of their stand-out performances. The boys junior high cross country team also had a fantastic season, with Josh Mitcham securing an impressive second place overall finish at the district meet. Additionally, the boys achieved a commendable fourth place in District 10 overall as a team.
Our girls junior high basketball team had an outstanding record of 13-7 this season. Their hard work and determination led them to be invited to the region tournament once again this year. Unfortunately, they lost a heartbreaker and were knocked out in round one. We commend them for their dedication and team spirit.
The boys junior high football team had an impressive season as well, with a remarkable 6-1 record. They showed resilience and determination, with their only loss coming against a tough opponent. We are proud of their accomplishments both on and off the field.
The marching band had a great 2023 season. Under the new direction of Mr. Ryan Fulton, the Union City Marching Bears got stronger and stronger as the season marched on. At LMBA Championships, the marching band had their best performance of the season and posted their highest score of the year. Well done!
As we transition into the winter season, we kindly request your support for our upcoming athletic teams, including boys basketball and wrestling. Your presence at the games and matches means a lot to our students and boosts their morale.
