Union City Elementary School uses the Choose Love Program to focus on Social Emotional Learning ( SEL) at a universal level. The Choose Love Program is a next generation social and emotional learning and character education development program that  teaches skills that help to promote compassion, connection, optimism, personal responsibility and resiliency. Students learn the Choose Love Formula which is Courage + Gratitude + Forgiveness + Compassion= Choosing Love.  The program will be taught to all the students in the district (K-12). At the elementary school, approximately every 3 weeks, we will focus on one of the four character traits (courage, gratitude, forgiveness, and compassion).

Choose Love for Home gives families a healthy way to grow together. Using neuroscience and positive psychology, children and parents alike can learn to better understand themselves and each other.

Through a series of self-guided videos, activities, and “dinner table discussion topics,” Choose Love for Home teaches families how to manage their emotions, communicate in healthier ways, and create a nurturing environment focused on the things that matter most. Choose Love Website
